Remember when "The Matrix" caused a collective nerdgasm across the world with its high-end special effects and mind-bending storytelling? ?Remember when that originality was sent spiraling down the toilet?thanks to the next two "movies"??
The short film above makes me sad and a bit angry at the?same time. Is it a bad piece of computer animation? Not at all. The problem is: It's so good, it?serves as a terrible reminder of just?how much I liked the first Matrix film ...?and just?how?disappointed I was by the sequels. ?
Setting my?inner pain aside,?the above remake of?"The Matrix" is done?superbly and it's hard not to appreciate the attention to detail in every shot. Using Source Filmmaker (the same program Valve Software uses to create their video game?cinematics)?YouTube user?LiveCurious95 has taken the audio from one of the key scenes in?film and used "Left 4 Dead 2" and "Team Fortress 2" characters to provide the cool visuals.
You can compare the remake with "The Matrix" film by checking the original scene bellow. Meanwhile I'm going to watch "The Matrix" film again and pretend the sequels don't exist ...?just like the Star Wars prequels don't exist. Remember kids, there is no spoon.
p.s. This remake of the phone conversation "I will kill you" scene from "Taken" is awesome too.
