iPhone 5 lines are already forming, but the campers don?t actually want the phone

WASHINGTON/KHARTOUM (Reuters) - The United States ordered non-essential staff to leave its embassies in Tunisia and Sudan on Saturday after both diplomatic posts were attacked and Khartoum rejected a U.S. request to send a platoon of Marines to bolster security at its mission there. "Given the security situation in Tunis and Khartoum, the U.S. State Department has ordered the departure of all family members and non-emergency personnel from both posts, and issued parallel travel warnings to American citizens," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said in a statement. Microsoft lets home users subscribe to Office: $100 a year

4 hrs.

Microsoft has added some new ways of accessing its latest?Office suite of applications and services: you can now subscribe on a month-to-month basis rather than buying the product outright. For many, this may be a very practical and money-saving option.

There are two subscription tiers: Home Premium ($8.33 per month, or $100 per year) and Small Business Premium ($12.50 per month, or $150 per year).

Home Premium allows for up to five users to use an Office suite on any device or platform, and even through a Web browser. (The idea is that this would also?cover a current subscriber for yet-to-be-announced editions, such as a new iPad app.)?Each user would get his or her own personalized settings and storage, and the account would?include?some freebies on other Microsoft services: 20 extra gigabytes of space (total)?on SkyDrive and an hour of world calling on Skype.

Small?Business Premium allows for up to 10 people, with each user allowed to activate Office on multiple devices or PCs. There's 25GB of Outlook mailbox?space included, as well as some extra for miscellaneous file storage. And screen-sharing, videoconferencing and website hosting are also included.

Both include "on demand" access that lets you temporarily log into your Office account from any PC, and both will have 30-day free trials in case users want to test the water before diving in.

At $100 or $150 per year, it's potentially a great deal for companies that have historically had to purchase several licenses to the Office software every few years. Extending subscriptions to families with lots of members (and all kinds of?devices) is also good news, because a single license could theoretically?cover you on PC, Mac, tablets and phones.?However, users or families with fewer devices or a slower upgrade schedule may still find that buying once will still be the best option.

The "Premium"?nomenclature indicates that "Basic" or "Pro" options (like those for versions of?Windows itself) could be on their way, their specifics perhaps to be determined from the usage patterns and subscription rates of the existing ones.?A few more details can be found at the blog post describing the new?subscriptions, or at the new Office website itself.

Apple shares hit $700 for first time

NEW YORK (AP) ? Apple's stock reached $700 for the first time on Tuesday, the day after it announced that orders for its iPhone 5 topped 2 million in the first 24 hours.

The stock traded as high as $701.44 in the morning, up a quarter of a percent from Monday's close. It later fell slightly. It had come within 20 cents of $700 on Monday.

The rally in Apple's stock price puts the company's market value at $656 billion.

The $700 mark is somewhat of an arbitrary milestone for Apple's stock, representing little more than a nice round number and a record high trading level.

The company, after all, already enjoys the distinction as the world's most valuable public company ever, at least if one ignores inflation. Google Inc., its Silicon Valley neighbor, saw its stock price surpass $700 in 2007. On Tuesday, Google's stock was trading at $715.24. But the online search leader's market capitalization is well below Apple's at $234.1 billion.

Apple started taking orders for the iPhone 5 at 3 a.m. EDT Friday. Orders during the first 24 hours more than doubled what Apple had for its predecessor, the iPhone 4S, over the same period last October.

"This was despite somewhat lukewarm reviews and some claiming it had 'lack of a wow factor,' Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu said in a note to investors. "We continue to believe many underestimate iPhone 5 in that it is a significant update and will drive a powerful product cycle."

Wu estimates that Apple will likely ship 27 million iPhones in the current quarter. That's up from his earlier estimate of 26 million.

Apple said on Monday that while most orders will be delivered this Friday, when the phone goes on sale in stores in the U.S. and eight other countries, demand for the iPhone 5 exceeds the initial supply. That means some of the devices will be delivered in October.

Buyers who have a two-year service agreement with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon Wireless are able to order the phone for $199 (16 gigabyte model), $299 (32 GB) or $399 (64 GB).

The iPhone 5 represents the first major revision of the iPhone's screen size since the first model was introduced in 2007. The new iPhone has an elongated screen, at 4 inches measured diagonally. That allows room for another row of icons and lets widescreen movies fit better. Earlier models had 3.5-inch screens. The new phone is also thinner and weighs less than previous versions. It can operate on LTE cellular networks and sports a new processor and updated software.

Apple share have risen 87 percent since Oct. 5, when CEO Steve Jobs died. The stock was up 15 cents at $699.93 in Tuesday morning trading after briefly surpassing $700.

UNE - Using Psychology

Australia celebrates World Teachers Day this Oct 26, but any day is a good one to praise a former (or current) teacher for good teaching. Teachers rarely hear that their efforts have made a lasting impact. I remember best the teachers who saw promise in me, who opened new vistas for me, or who set good models for me. For instance, a new teacher, Mr. Quick, taught my primary school class about car engines ? he even took us out to look at an engine. His enthusiasm for teaching was contagious. A high school English teacher, Mr. Dubin, praised my creative writing. That was about a year after he had been severely beaten by a shockingly aggressive student at the school. Gentle Mr. Dubin took boxing lessons after his beating so he could defend himself, but he kept on teaching like a champ. At my university, a public speaking professor made me give one more speech than I thought was required by the syllabus. Because I was anxious about public speaking, I felt angry about that. That anger replaced my anxiety (I refused to care much about how well I did), and I have never felt anxious about public speaking since then. He did the right thing for me! I could go on about law and clinical psychology instructors who set good models in their patient, professional manner, but I won?t. These good men and women showed me many things, including how to teach effectively. I have used the lessons in the classroom and with my own children. I thanked one years later. Maybe it is time to thank another?

Did some teacher have a lasting positive effect on you? Which teacher? What was the effect? Did you ever say thanks? Reinforcement in the form of praise can be powerful.

Closings set in trial of girl's 1957 murder

FILE - This July 27, 2011 file photo provided by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department in Sycamore, Ill., shows Jack McCullough, of Seattle. On Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, the defense rested its case on behalf of McCullough, 72, who is accused of killing 7-year-old Maria Ridulph, of Sycamore in 1957. McCullough was arrested in Seattle in 2011 and returned to Illinois. (AP Photo/DeKalb County Sheriff's Department, File)

(AP) ? Closing arguments are expected Friday at the trial of a former police officer accused of killing an Illinois school girl in 1957 after kidnapping her as she played in a small-town street, marking one of the oldest cold-case murders to make it to court.

Maria Ridulph's abduction horrified Sycamore, her close-knit farming community west of Chicago, and unsettled parents nationwide. Even then-President Dwight Eisenhower asked to be kept apprised of a massive search for the 7-year-old girl.

Jack McCullough, who was about 17 at the time and lived a few blocks from Maria's home, is now on trial for her death. The 72-year-old former Washington state police officer has pleaded not guilty.

The case was reopened just a few years ago after McCullough's girlfriend in the 1950s contacted police with evidence calling his alibi into question. The Seattle man was arrested July 1, 2011, at a retirement home where he worked as a security guard.

The weeklong bench trial at a courthouse near where the second-grader went missing Dec. 3, 1957, has included testimony about dolls, piggyback rides ? and a deathbed accusation from the defendant's mother that her son committed the crime.

But the trial has been complicated by faded memories and an absence of physical evidence. McCullough's attorneys told the court that prosecutors have the wrong man.

McCullough waived his right to a jury trial and opted for a bench trial instead, meaning Judge James Hallock will decide the verdict. The judge suggested his decision could come as soon as Friday.

The star witness for the state was Kathy Chapman, the friend Ridulph was playing with right before she vanished.

Chapman testified that a young man calling himself "Johnny" had approached them while they were playing, asked if they liked dolls and offered the girls piggyback rides. After Ridulph ran home and came back with her doll, Chapman went to grab mittens on the snowy night. When she returned, her playmate and the man were gone.

She never saw her friend alive again.

McCullough, whose name was John Tessier in the '50s, was "Johnny," Chapman told the judge. A prosecutor laid out black-and-white photographs of similar looking men from the era, and Chapman pointed to one of McCullough.

A Seattle investigator who interviewed McCullough last year, Irene Lau, said McCullough remembered Maria, calling her "stunningly beautiful." But he maintained he had nothing to do with her disappearance or death.

In other testimony for the state earlier this week, McCullough's half-sister told the court that their mother, Eileen Tessier, said on her death bed in 1994 that McCullough had killed Ridulph.

"She grabbed my wrist and said, 'Those two little girls, the one that disappeared, John did it,'" Janet Tessier said. Under cross-examination, she conceded her mother didn't explain why she believed that.

In their case that lasted less than two hours, defense lawyers focused entirely on the mother's alleged accusation. They called a doctor who said Eileen Tessier had been given morphine to ease her pain and that she was disoriented at times.

Among the other state witnesses were inmates jailed with McCullough as he awaited trial.

One said he overheard McCullough say he strangled Ridulph with a wire. Another said McCullough told him he killed her accidentally ? that she fell as he gave her a piggyback ride, then smothered her as he tried to stop her from screaming.

Prosecutors say McCullough stabbed the girl in the throat and chest.

After a five-month search, Ridulph's badly decomposed body was found in the spring of 1958 in a forest 120 miles away.

In his opening statement his week, DeKalb County State's Attorney Clay Campbell described the night little Maria went out to play on the corner of Archie Place and Center Cross Street.

"This ordinary night would end in horror," he said. "It would end with this defendant dumping her body in the cold, dark woods like a piece of garbage."

How the video games industry is faring

Companies in the video games business have been reporting earnings for the most recent quarter. Here's a look at reports and results for selected companies that make or sell video games.

? July 12: NPD Group reports that U.S. retail sales of video game hardware, software and accessories fell 29 percent in June to $700 million. It's the seventh consecutive month of decline. Sales of console and portable software ? the video games themselves ? fell 29 percent from a year earlier, while sales of hardware fell 45 percent. Sales of accessories grew 4 percent. Excluded are sales of used games and rentals as well as digital and social-network spending. The top-selling game was "Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes," from Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. Interactive.

? July 19: Microsoft Corp. says it sold 1.1 million Xbox 360 consoles, down from 1.7 million a year earlier, in what it calls a soft console market. Membership in its Xbox Live service increased more than 15 percent.

? July 25: Nintendo Co. says it sold 710,000 Wii units in the April-June quarter, down from 1.56 million a year ago. Nintendo is coming out with a successor, the Wii U, this year. It is forecasting 10.5 million units for the full fiscal year, which ends in March 2013.

? July 31: Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. reports a wider net loss and lower revenue in its latest quarter, but results are largely in line with expectations. It also announces a stock buyback of up to $500 million.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., another game publisher, says its loss in the latest quarter was much bigger than expected, because sales of "Spec Ops: The Line" and "Max Payne 3" were not as high as the company hoped.

? Aug. 2: Sony Corp. says sales fell about 15 percent, largely because of lower sales of the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable devices and the games that go with them. The decline was partly offset by the new PlayStation Vita, which went on sale in December in Japan and in the U.S. and Europe in February.

Video game publisher Activision Blizzard Inc. says net income dropped because of lower revenue from games. But adjusted results ? the more closely watched figure ? easily surpassed Wall Street's expectations and were much higher than a year ago.

? Aug. 6: Video game publisher THQ Inc. says revenue fell in the latest quarter, but adjusted results beat Wall Street's expectations as the company plan to reshape its business advanced. THQ is changing its focus to its core gaming business that includes popular wrestling and action-adventure video games such as "WWE" and "Darksiders." As part of that, it exited its traditional kids' licensed game business, trimmed its product line and streamlined operations. The process, however, is still ongoing.

? Aug. 7: The Walt Disney Co.'s interactive games division saw revenue fall 22 percent to $196 million as there were fewer significant titles compared with a year ago.

? Aug. 9: NPD says retail sales of new video game hardware, software and accessories fell for the eighth straight month in July. Overall sales fell 20 percent to $548.4 million. Sales of consoles and portable software ? the video games themselves ? fell 23 percent, while sales of hardware fell 32 percent. Accessories sales rose 8 percent. "NCAA Football 13" from Electronic Arts Inc. was the month's top seller.

? Aug. 16: GameStop Corp., the world's biggest video game retailer, reports a 32 percent decline in its quarterly income as sales slowed because not enough new games came out to draw in customers. Revenue fell 11 percent to $1.55 billion, short of Wall Street's $1.61 billion estimate.

? Sept. 5: Zynga Inc. releases a sequel to "FarmVille," hoping people will still play games on Facebook and computers as attention turns to mobile devices.

? Sept. 6: NPD says U.S. retail sales of new video game hardware, software and accessories fell for the ninth straight month in August. Overall sales fell 20 percent to $515.6 million. But one analyst notes that it was hardware that dragged on the month, while software sales dipped just 9 percent. "Darksiders II" was the month's top-selling game.

? Thursday: Nintendo Co. says its new Wii U game machine will go on sale in the U.S. on Nov. 18, starting at $300. It also announces an entertainment component called Nintendo TVii. The service collects all the ways users have to watch movies, TV shows and sports, such as through cable TV, Hulu and Netflix.

I take it that Gaston and Hades are really innacurate disney versions still. Gotta love it.

Gaston: Humble, handsome, hardworking, devoted to Bell, and honest. Exact opposite of disney version while Bell was still a bitch.

Hades: The nice neutral god. Eldest not youngest of the gods (with the exception of Aphrodite, but she was born way before Hades) and in escence the most powerful. Nice to Hercules and even to orpheus.

I'll join if depending on wheather or not those two are either disney version or I can roleplay them as the original. Because everybody knows that when disney gets a hold of a story they do one thing. FUCK UP.

Oooh, I'm interested in playing here! I love what you did with Ursula.
I'd want to play Scar, especially. He's complex, one of my favorite Disney villians of all time, and I'd love to see him find a bit of redemption. Or not. CB

I'm filling out a profile now.

High-tech product announcements this fall

It's high season for consumer electronics. Manufacturers of various gadgets are unveiling their holiday lineups. Apple is expected to unveil a new iPhone on Wednesday. Add to that products surrounding a new version of Windows coming out next month.

Here's a recap of the announcements so far:

? Sept. 4: Microsoft Corp. releases the first major update to its server operating system since 2009, a prelude to releasing Windows 8 to consumers in October. Microsoft says Windows Server 2012 adds features that make it easier to manage large clusters of servers in data centers remotely.

? Sept. 5: Nokia Corp. unveils its first phones running the next version of Windows. The company didn't reveal prices and says only that the Windows Phone 8 devices will be available in the fourth quarter "in select markets." The two devices are under Nokia's Lumia brand.

Motorola Mobility, under new owner Google Inc., announces three smartphones borrowing the Razr brand, the name of the hit clamshell phone from 2004. The $99 Razr M is to be in Verizon Wireless stores on Sept. 13. Two higher-end models will come later.

? Sept. 6: Amazon.com Inc. announces four new Kindle Fire tablet computers as it steps up competition with Apple Inc. and its iPad. Two of the models have screens nearly as large as the iPad's, at lower prices. Those will start shipping in November, while the smaller, 7-inch models will start selling Sept. 14. Amazon also refreshes its line of stand-alone e-readers.

? Monday: Toys R Us says it plans to launch its own Android tablet computer aimed at children. Called Tabeo, it will start selling on Oct. 21 for $150. The 7-inch touch-screen tablet will come with 50 apps selected for children, including such games as "Angry Birds" and "Fruit Ninja" and a book app called istorybooks. Toys R Us sells other electronics including the iPad, but this is its first store-brand tablet.

? Tuesday: Google releases a new YouTube app for the iPhone and the iPad as Apple prepares to release a new iPhone model and a software update that displaces the video service as a built-in program. The changes are being made because Google Inc. and Apple Inc. didn't renew a five-year licensing agreement.

The Finest Gaming Apps for Any Cellular Phone | TechnologiesA-Z ...

The Titan 2 is the latest smart phone made by HTC that is available to HTC subscribers, and features the great Android app market that features thousands of great applications that anyone would love. The top games available on the HTC Titan 2 are all free and include Angry Birds, Jewels Deluxe, Abduction!, Gem Miner and Words With Friends.

Angry Birds is the world popular puzzle game that originated on the iPhone. Angry Birds is now available on the Android market and can be downloaded for free. The game is massive and feature hundreds of different puzzles that get harder the further you progress. To play the game, you shoot different kind of birds from a slingshot to destroy structures and enemies. Once the level is completed, the puzzle can be replayed at any time. The game can be annoying with its advertisements, but it beats having to pay for the game. It may be a good idea to have some cell phone accessories like a case equipped when playing games in case you were to drop your device.

Jewels Deluxe is an upgrade of the popular Android game Jewels. The game is a clone of the very popular Bejeweled, and plays exactly the same. Jewels Deluxe is a puzzle game that is played by moving around colored jewels to make large rows of jewels of the same color. Once there are three or more jewels of the same color, the player scores points and the jewels are removed from the screen. With so much gaming the battery will surely drain quickly, so pick up some accessories like a charger and be sure to keep it handy.

Abduction! is an extremely addictive and fun game. The game is very similar to the very popular iPhone game Doodle Jump. In Abduction! you can move the phone to guide a cow from platform to platform. The directive of the game is to have the cow reach the top of all of the platforms and to get itself abducted by an alien ship. This is an amazing game that can be played with one hand. The great accelerometer that is featured in the HTC Titan 2 makes it easy to move the cow across the screen and place it where it needs to go.

Gem Miner is another great gaming application for the HTC Titan 2. Gem Miner lets you play as a mole-like character that likes to dig things out of the ground. The game allows the player to manage the materials that are found, upgrade the digging powers of the character, buy better tools and purchase additional maps to dig. This game can be easily picked up and enjoyed by everyone. The only problem with the game is that there's nothing to do with the maps after you're finished.

Words With Friends has been newly added to the Android market and it does not disappoint. Words With Friends has been available for quite some time on the iPhone, but is now available to download on the HTC Titan 2 for free. The game is a similar version of the popular strategy game Scrabble. You can play a game against a computer or a human opponent. There are countless hours of fun to be had while playing the game against your friends. Some mobile accessories for HTC Titan 2 such as Bluetooth Headsets for HTC Titan 2 and car chargers for HTC Titan 2 are needed to help you play games.

(AP) ? The final juror to agree to convict Drew Peterson of murder in the death of his ex-wife says he "barely slept" one night during the proceedings because the same nagging questions kept popping into his head.

Even after joining fellow members of the panel by casting the last vote for guilty, Ron Supalo remains troubled by the prosecution's reliance on hearsay, statements not based on a witness' direct knowledge.

Peterson, the former suburban Chicago police officer, faces a maximum 60-year prison term after his first-degree murder conviction in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. It was the first case in Illinois history to permit the use of hearsay evidence, based on a 2008 state law specifically tailored to Peterson's case.

"I needed time to think it through," Supalo, a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, said in a telephone interview Friday evening.

Supalo said he believes the hearsay law might be unconstitutional, but he eventually realized his duty as a juror was only to assess the evidence, not the laws.

"We (the jurors) weren't the U.S. Supreme Court," he said. "Right or wrong, this was the hearsay law, and we had to use it in this case."

Other jurors acknowledged that comments Stacy Peterson, Peterson's fourth wife, made before her 2007 disappearance played the decisive role in convincing them to convict her husband of killing his ex-wife.

The prosecution's strategy grew largely from a lack of physical evidence collected in the case after investigators initially deemed Savio's 2004 death an accident. Prosecutors claimed the hearsay would allow Savio and Stacy Peterson ? who is presumed dead ? "to speak from their graves" through family and friends.

    It worked.

Jury foreman Eduardo Saldana, 22, said the women's comments were "extremely critical" in deliberations and in his decision to convict Peterson. He said he was one of four jurors who initially had reservations given a lack of physical evidence tying the former police officer to Savio's death. But Saldana said the more he thought about hearsay testimony from Stacy Peterson's pastor, the more compelling he found it.

But Supalo said he had some doubts about the credibility of Stacy Peterson's statements to the Rev. Neil Schori.

During the trial, Schori testified that Stacy Peterson told him weeks before she went missing that her husband got up from bed and left the house about the time of Savio's death and then returned to stuff women's clothing in their washing machine. Peterson also coached his wife for hours on how to lie to police, Schori told jurors.

"When it was the 11 for guilty and just me holding out, I told them, 'You all believe Schori's testimony is gospel because he is a man of God,'" Supalo said. "They said, 'It is.' And I said, 'No, it's not!'"

Supalo also said he had difficulty coming to terms with convicting someone based on what others claimed someone else said.

"I'm uncomfortable with the Illinois law that allowed hearsay," Supalo, who briefly studied law. "They made the law just for Drew Peterson ? applied it to him retroactively. If there was no hearsay in his case ? Drew Peterson goes free."

Defense lawyers have said the presentation of hearsay undercut Peterson's constitutional rights because he couldn't directly confront his accusers ? namely, his third and fourth wives.

They tried to discredit Stacy Peterson by having attorney Harry Smith testify that she asked him if she could squeeze more money out of Peterson in a divorce if she threatened to tell police he killed Savio. But Saldana and other jurors said Smith only ended up stressing that Stacy Peterson knew her husband had, in fact, murdered his ex-wife.

As he realized Smith was starting to hurt Peterson's case, the defense attorney questioning him, Joel Brodsky, began shouting at Smith, accusing him of lying.

Juror Teresa Mathews, 49, said Friday that Smith had nothing to gain by making up testimony.

"We believed he was a credible witness," she said.

Although thoughts about the evidence cost Supalo some sleep, by Thursday afternoon, just before the verdict was read in court to gasps and tears, he'd resolved several issues in his mind. Among them was accepting Schori's and Smith's testimony as credible, he said.

"It was the totality of the evidence that convinced me," he said.

Peterson is to be sentenced Nov. 26.

Neighbors found the 40-year-old's body in the bathtub of her suburban Chicago home ? a gash on the back of her head. Investigators initially thought she drowned after slipping in the tub, but reopened the case after Stacy Peterson disappeared.

Peterson also is a suspect in that case, and Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow said Thursday that charges could be forthcoming.

Peterson's personality had seemed to loom large over the trial, at least to outsiders.

Before his 2009 arrest, the glib, cocky Peterson seemed to taunt authorities, joking on talk shows and even suggesting a "Win a Date With Drew" contest. His behavior inspired a TV movie starring Rob Lowe.

But jurors said Friday that Peterson's crude and unsavory reputation didn't factor into their deliberations.

First look at structure of vital molecule

ScienceDaily (Sep. 7, 2012) ? Molybdenum is an essential metal required in all living beings from bacteria to plants to humans. But as vital as this metal is, no one understood the importance of the structure of a vital molecule that interacts with molybdenum until the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry's Joel Weiner and his team jumped on the case.

Molybdenum plays critical roles in human health. It does not act alone but is found attached to certain proteins, called molybdenum enzymes, by a very large organic molecule. The organic molecule that holds the molybdenum in place in a protein is extraordinarily complex -- and "expensive" for the cell to make. But the structure of this molecule should make sense to scientists now, thanks to Weiner and his research team.

For starters, the research group found that the molecule occurs in nature in two forms based on their appearance -- flat or distorted. Weiner's team was able to show that the distorted form and flat form have very different functions. The distorted molecule plays a role in the transfer of electrons to the molybdenum, whereas the flat molecule prepares and co-ordinates positioning of the enzyme so it can be part of a biochemical reaction.

"This is important because molybdenum is so essential throughout biology," said Weiner. "We need to understand why the cell goes to all this trouble."

The distorted form is found in proteins involved in metabolic, respiratory and cardiac diseases. The flat form occurs in a protein required for brain development, and defects in this protein cause death in infancy. Understanding of this flat form could help lead to treatment of this defect.

It all started for Weiner and his research group in the Department of Biochemistry about three years ago. Although scientists worldwide had known the overall structure of molybdenum in proteins for many years, no one understood why it is so complicated. It was a summer student, Matthew Solomonson, who noticed that one of the structures holding molybdenum was very flat while the other group was distorted. As curiosity-based research goes, the summer student and Weiner's research team wondered if it was significant. The answer is yes.

"When you bring in a new student it's really good because they have a fresh way of looking at things," says Weiner of Solomonson who is now a grad student at the University of British Columbia.

"This discovery is a major one for my lab and will have a huge impact on molybdenum biochemistry research."

Now the team will use protein-engineering techniques to change the protein environment around the molybdenum.

"This is a critical next step," said Weiner. "We hope to finally start understanding the chemistry of these enzymes at atomic resolution, and to modulate their activities to better understand human disease and explore potential biotechnology and biomedical applications."
